They can arrange a ride from the train station if you ask. It’s walkable, but the hill is very steep, so you may prefer a lift if you have luggage. The hotel sits above Appenzell, and our room was spacious and clean, with a lovely balcony view. Breakfast was wonderful, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

We had a great time here. The hotel is up on a hill with fantastic views, a good restaurant, and a large parking lot. Our room was clean and spacious, and there’s a shortcut path on foot into town.

The view from our room was spectacular, and the food was delicious. We had made a mistake with our booking, but the staff were really nice and accommodating, moving us to a different day without charging extra. It was the best stay.

For a quiet stay with a nice view over the city, this is a great place. The staff were very welcoming, especially Robert, who guided me and gave me lots of advice. The hotel is up the hill, so ask for help getting there. They offer that service if you request it.
