We had a bad experience with a voucher. We’d booked a room five months ahead and prepaid with the voucher. After our stay, the hotel asked us to pay. We explained that we had a reservation with a voucher and showed them all the email correspondence, but were told the business had changed hands and the new owner wouldn’t honor vouchers issued by the previous owner. That might have been acceptable if we’d been told in advance, instead of after we’d stayed. The owner’s manner wasn’t very polite either. In the end, we had to pay a second time and later involve our legal insurance. Separate from all that, the place is too expensive for what it offers.

The warm, freshly made bread at breakfast was delicious, and the bath was lovely after a full day hiking in the hills. We had a top-floor room at this charming boutique hotel by the lake, right at the end, so the mountains were on two sides when we woke up. Fantastic views. Highly recommended.

The room had a really comfortable bed and great lighting, especially with so few buildings nearby. Dinner was very good, and the lounge had a nice range of craft beers, though the liquor and cocktail choices were nothing special. It’s close to the main station and ski lifts, with a bus stop right by the hotel for the ride to Hornli. A good budget stay for getting to the slopes. Breakfast was awful, though. I could barely find anything to eat, and the coffee was some of the worst I’ve had. The windows were very dirty and dusty, too.

We were really glad we went. The restaurant had a great choice of dishes, and the steak was perfectly grilled and beautifully served. Service was excellent. You should go too!
