The setting is fairly quiet, partly because it’s a little way from the lake, though still not too far. Everything felt clean and well made, from the faucets to the mattresses. Breakfast used quality ingredients, including cheeses, vegetables, and cold cuts, but the only eggs were boiled and the coffee didn’t match the rest. Most of all, the staff were extremely kind and helpful.

The key arrangement was funny but useful: you leave the big key and take a small one with you, and that same small key opens the front door. Just make sure to collect your keys before late, since there’s no receptionist at night. The hotel is on a quiet street in the city center, with a large free parking lot and plenty of spaces. Rooms are roomy enough, clean, and fresh. Staff were nice and helpful, and breakfast was good, with everything we wanted.

We found it very easy to stay here, especially with a car. It’s a simple, convenient base for exploring the Ticino areas. The rooms were well equipped and extremely clean, and the staff were friendly. I’d choose it again when I’m in the area.

The bikes at Hotel Luna were handy for riding each day to the nearby beach, where you can rent chairs and umbrellas and find a nice café. Back at the hotel, we were given very full breakfasts, and the place is clearly well managed. My husband and I stayed there a few years ago and had a wonderful, restful few days in the middle of our travels around Switzerland. We also loved our time in Ascona. I highly recommend Hotel Luna.

We had a wonderful stay. We were traveling with our baby, and the staff were so helpful that everything felt easy and pleasant. Great breakfast, too.
