Loft-Inn

The view near Loft-in is so beautiful, and the place is really lovely inside. There’s only one restaurant outside, though, and I think it’s expensive, so it helps to bring all your food with you. The place is on the right side of the road, but it’s easy to miss when driving past in a hurry. Check the satellite view on Google Maps and zoom in to get your bearings. For the cheapest price in Bern, it’s an okay place, especially near Blausee, a very beautiful natural park.

The night was unbearably noisy. I had a private double room next to a dorm for 10 people, where people played music and partied until 6am. People kept coming and going late, the entrance door was left open, and there was no staff around to keep things secure or quiet. With large dorm groups staying here, I question how the property handles safety and nighttime rest. I called to report the experience before posting, but they didn’t care. They first claimed I’d already written a review, which wasn’t true. Maybe they confused me with another guest whose review said much the same. They say it isn’t their problem if other guests don’t behave, but who is responsible for safety and peace at night if not the property? Why pay for a private room if it’s like staying in a party dorm? The woman in charge compared it to a place in the US where it was loud outside the hotel. That’s ridiculous. Noise outside is not the same as a party inside the property. Is that really the manager’s view, or does it reflect the property’s philosophy? If that is the philosophy, they should confirm it here so future guests know what to expect. If not, they should respond with an apology and make clear they don’t stand by it. The manager also said I left the room at 11am, which is a lie. I left at 10am and only used the shared bathroom after that. Very very bad experience.

Yes, very much so. We were only there for a meal, though, so I can’t say anything about the room.
