Limehome Basel Town Hall

We were really pleased with the comfort, location, and digital service, and I’d definitely choose Limehome again. Our bed was extremely comfortable, the TV was large, and everything worked smoothly. We stayed four nights, walked everywhere from this incredibly central spot, and found the online check-in and check-out excellent. All the details came by email and SMS, and one access code made getting into the building easy. The room felt newly renovated, with plenty of space, light, and nice furnishings. A few things fell short, mostly because it isn’t a traditional hotel. Nobody came to clean during our 4-night stay, and there were no usual hotel extras such as slippers, a mini fridge, cotton pads, or conditioner. Without a fridge, storing drinks or snacks was difficult. Basel tap water is drinkable, but there was no information about that in the room and no complimentary water. Coffee and tea were available, but the cups weren’t replaced, so we washed them ourselves. Not a big deal, but worth mentioning for future guests.

The room had a great view, and the bed was really comfortable. I also appreciated having both a kettle and a coffee machine. Such a good stay, and I’d definitely come back here next time I’m in Basel.

The floors were dirty, and the room was impossible to sleep in. There was no one on site to help, so late at night I had to go up and down the floors and search wardrobes for proper bedding, as they asked me to. There was a pillow missing, along with pillowcases. I reported the problem through their online customer service. The reply was basically that I should have researched how noisy it was and that there was nothing they could do, even framing it as my oversight.

The street noise made it impossible to sleep. I asked if I could move to a higher-floor room, but that wasn't possible. I also asked to postpone the second night, without even asking for a refund, and was told no. Knowing how noisy it is, how can you offer a first-floor room without soundproof windows? This lack of common sense has cost you a potential frequent customer. I won't return or recommend the place.
