RAP Residence Apartments by Hotel du Commerce

The staff were nice, which is why I gave them a star, but I wouldn't stay here again. I paid a cleaning fee and still found a dirty microwave, messy soap and bits on the floor. The shower was small and leaked, and most TV channels didn't work. The room was very hot even after I turned off the radiator. Opening the windows helped, but it was noisy and there was no AC. The furniture and blinds felt old and flimsy. There wasn't a proper bed either. I arrived to find a single camp bed pulled down from the wall, with a cheap, thin mattress, though my booking hadn't said it was a single. Reception came up, put it away and opened the sofa bed instead. It was a little wider, but the mattress was still cheap and uncomfortable.

This felt more like a studio than a one-bedroom apartment. Once the sofa bed was open there was hardly any room to move, and the kitchen only had two stools even though the listing said it could sleep four. The bed was the most uncomfortable I've ever stayed in. It creaked with every movement and made it hard to sleep.

We come back to this apartment house almost every year for the Fantasy Basel show, and it feels like home. The place is clean, cozy and fully equipped, with lots of restaurants nearby. The Old Town center is only two tram stops away. The reception team are friendly and always find a good solution for clients. Thank you! We love staying here and hope to return.

This was just what we needed for a week. The staff were very helpful whenever anything came up, and I loved having coffee on the porch in the mornings.
