The location was really convenient, close to a tram station, and free public transport was included. It’s near the waterfront, though there wasn’t a live water view, just a live webcam feed of the water side on the TV. The bed was decent, but all the pillows, including the extras, were too soft. I ended up using towels and the blanket from the end of the bed to make something like a pillow. The room was quite hot with no air conditioning, and outside noise made it hard to open the window, especially with cigarette smoke coming in. The room was okay otherwise. They brought a kettle and glasses when I asked, which was appreciated since we had our own tea, but the rain shower didn’t work. Breakfast was disappointing compared with what was advertised. There was no bacon or scrambled eggs, only an option to cook your own egg. They had croissants, small bread rolls, yogurt with some muesli, nuts, and dried fruits. The juice and milk weren’t fresh, and the selection was limited.

We had a great view of the Rhein from our bedroom window, and you can’t beat the location. The room was very comfortable, though the bathroom was quite odd, and its light switch was by the hallway door instead of near the bathroom. Breakfast was great, and all the staff we met were smart, polite, and friendly. I’d definitely stay at the East West again.

We chose to have dinner here for the wonderful river view, though we didn’t stay at the hotel. The food was okay, and we had dishes from the specials menu. Our Romanian waiter was friendly and gave excellent service. It was busy, but he handled his tables really well, stayed cheerful, and gave his guests time.

A good price and a handy spot right by the river. The room was clean but very basic, and without air conditioning it got pretty stuffy at night. Seems best for a short stay.

The staff were friendly, and our food and drinks came out quickly. My partner enjoyed the Flamkuchen, and the fried calamares tasted good, though the coating was a little oily. Perhaps frying them for less time at a slightly higher temperature would help. Prices are what you'd expect in Switzerland, especially with a terrace overlooking the Rhine river.
