Visionapartments Basel

I booked five nights at first, extended twice, and ended up staying 15 nights. The place was very clean, which matters to me since I can't stand sticky, dirty, or moldy rooms. My room faced the main road, but the double glazing kept it quiet. Pavo, the manager, was on site, polite, and very helpful. The free laundry machines were great, and luggage storage after checkout felt very secure. The virtual check-in took a while to deliver the access code, but after that everything was fine. The gym is just okay. Luckily, I'm a member of a full gym nearby. It's about a 10-minute walk to the city center, with plenty of restaurants, supermarkets, and shops close by. I needed to go to Zurich and was pleased with this stay, so I booked with them there too. I think the earlier low ratings about cleanliness have been addressed, as an on-site manager apparently started here a few weeks ago.

The room and bathroom were spacious and had all the amenities. Everything felt safe, with security throughout the night, which we appreciated. The location was convenient too, about five minutes on foot from the train station and 15 minutes from the city center and Christmas Market area. It's not a five-star hotel, but for what we paid, the value was honestly great and better than expected. We'd stay again.

The pillows were so uncomfortable that sleeping on them was nearly impossible. The room was also extremely hot even though the heating was officially off, so we had to leave the windows wide open just to breathe. That brought constant street noise and made proper rest impossible. Check-in was a nightmare as well. Their system kept failing with a “system error” even after we uploaded our documents several times. I repeatedly contacted customer service, but got useless template emails and no real help. After a long, frustrating, unnecessary process, we finally received the entry code, which should have taken seconds. Nothing about the stay matched the listing. The service, comfort, and communication were far below an acceptable standard. I'd strongly advise people to avoid this accommodation.

There was a party in the building on Saturday night that hadn't been announced, and the noise carried on well past 11:00 PM. The room itself smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, and it was much dirtier than it should have been, with dusty surfaces, dirty walls, and stained cups. The most frustrating part was trying to get help. I called several times during my stay to discuss the problems or ask to change rooms, but nobody answered. My stay at VISIONAPARTMENTS in Basel was very disappointing.
