The wellness area wasn't relaxing for us. Its bright, color-changing LED lights were so intense they felt disruptive, and at 9:15 PM a staff member rudely told me to leave, even though the spa was advertised as open until 9:30 PM. The staff there came across as rude and unprofessional. We also had a call from reception at 12:30 AM asking us to be quieter. For a "Premium Suite" that was supposedly soundproofed, this felt inappropriate and hard to understand. With proper insulation, noise from the next room should hardly carry. Given the hotel's remote location, being asked to keep quiet in a suite sold as peaceful was especially irritating. It left us questioning whether the suites are really suitable for people seeking quiet, and how good the soundproofing actually is. Reception wasn't staffed continuously, which is a problem for a hotel of this class. More broadly, the way guests were treated seemed selective, as if you were welcome only if you seemed "wealthy." A smile and basic courtesy should be standard at a 4-star hotel, not dependent on perceived status. The gap between the official category and the service, along with the wellness shortcomings, was striking. The hotel's approach to service felt highly idiosyncratic.

The electronic check-in and checkout worked well for me, especially with an early departure. The hotel is beside the main train station in a tasteful Art Deco building, with matching interior and furnishings.

The rooftop restaurant has a lovely view and an eerie feel early in the morning, and the staff there are super friendly. The front desk, though, is often unattended as the hotel moves more things online, including check-in and checkout. That's fine if personalized human service doesn't matter to you, and if you don't mind the effect on jobs for company profit. My room was comfortable, clean and sufficient, with a direct view of the roundabout. Great, except when there's public football viewing. Watch the shower door too, since it isn't obvious how to close it properly and you can end up with a little pond.

The front desk service was exceptional, they went beyond what was required. The room had a nice view and was comfortable, with all the amenities, including a great coffee machine and free water. Very central too, just a short walk from the train station.

The location is perfect, and the employees were amazingly caring. Still, the bathroom wasn't up to standard, and annoying noises kept coming into the rooms. Management responded afterward by offering an upgrade or breakfast next time. Given the experience, I would have welcomed a gesture on the price instead.
