The staff were friendly, and the chef especially stood out. We picked this hotel because it takes dogs, which was a real plus. We'd booked a lakeside room and got one on the first floor. All three lakeside rooms on that floor share a big terrace, so we barely felt comfortable using it in case we disturbed the others. The lake view is mostly blocked by a nursing home. If seeing the lake clearly matters to you, I'd strongly suggest requesting a room on the second floor or higher. Breakfast was a big disappointment. We were assigned a table, though it wasn't clear why since the hotel was mostly empty. The juices, cold meats, and cheese were very poor quality. The items that were decent were in short supply: there wasn't enough tresse bread, croissants, or boiled eggs, and some guests got none at all. It was low season, and the staff clearly knew about the issue, which made the short supply feel even meaner. Sadly, we wouldn't come back.

The area is incredibly beautiful, with some of the best scenery we've seen, and Brienz itself is lovely. The hotel was spotless, the staff friendly and accommodating, and the bus stop is right outside. If you miss the bus, it's still only a 10-15 minute walk from the train station. Give this place a try if you're visiting the country! 🙂

The breakfast was good, especially that pink yogurt with musli 😋. We spent a week here and found the hotel really clean and quiet. Thanks, and best wishes from Belgium!

Dinner was a real highlight, delicious, beautifully served, and full of flavor. The staff welcomed us so warmly and did their best to make the stay enjoyable. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and in great shape, a lovely place to unwind after exploring. We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Brienz, which exceeded our expectations from the moment we arrived. If you're in the area, it's a gem.
