Hotel Römerhof

After we left an average rating on Booking.com, we got very aggressive, insulting calls. The owner insulted us twice by phone after the review, which we found completely unacceptable. We won't return and will tell others about this experience. The location was decent and the rooms acceptable, although the refrigerator was broken. The hotel smelled strongly of cigarette smoke and felt abandoned. A boiler breakdown meant we had no hot water, and the hotel hadn't warned us. We had to try three different numbers before anyone answered. Eventually we were moved to another nearby hotel, which was satisfactory.

Our room was clean and quiet, and there was an elevator. We had free parking nearby, but no shops or restaurants within walking distance. The hotel only has a coffee machine. There was no air conditioning, and during the hottest part of the day the room felt stuffy. We paid through Booking.com but received no instructions, even though the listing said self-check-in. The door had a phone number to call, which wasn't useful since our SIM card only had internet. Luckily, the owner was there when we arrived, and we got in by ringing the doorbell.

Self check-in by phone went smoothly, and the owner was a very nice, helpful man. The room was quiet and clean, with a balcony, large bathroom, drinks fridge, and kettle. They offered free coffee in the morning, but no breakfast. The large bed took some getting used to because of its deep "ditch" 🫣😅. We can definitely recommend the place, thank you! 👍🏻

The manager welcomed us warmly, and the place was quiet, with the baths nearby. We got 10% off admission when we arrived. The rooms were decent and peaceful, and the beds were very comfortable.
