There was complimentary tea, coffee, croissants, and fruit at reception every morning. Check-in was self service. It’s a ten-minute walk from the main train station. Only single rooms were available when we booked four rooms, but we were given twin rooms when we arrived.

The neighborhood was okay, though it seemed to be getting a bit sketchy. The coffee machine in the kitchen was a nice touch, and the breakfast croissants were delicious. This felt like a hotel designed by misanthropes for a misanthrope: I didn’t see a single person at check-in or check-out.

A community space, kitchenette, free coffee, and very spacious rooms made for a really cool stay. Self check-in and checkout were easy, too. The location is great, close to the railway station and Migros market. There are also a few fast food places nearby open until 10 pm, which isn’t that common in Switzerland.

I’ve stayed here a few times. The rooms aren’t really modern, but they’re acceptable for a one-night business trip. Winter is tolerable. Summer is a different story: there’s no air conditioning or fan, and opening the window is your only option. The street stays busy and noisy even on a Monday night, and from the second floor you can hear every conversation below. It’s impossible to sleep. Stay far away in summer. The automatic check-in has plenty of problems, too. Whenever I’m here, there seems to be someone stuck at the kiosk, calling the hotel because they can’t check in. It usually takes forever.
