The rooms were small but clean, and the hotel itself was nice. I’d stay there again, though the way my booking mistake was handled left me disappointed. I’d reserved two rooms a long time in advance and, by mistake, arrived one day late. I only realised when the receptionist pointed out the booking date. I’d already seen the full amount taken from my account that morning, but assumed that was the hotel’s policy even though I hadn’t arrived yet. I got there early in the night and asked what could be done. The employee said there was nothing to do and I’d have to pay the full price again, even though the hotel had empty rooms. I did get a good discount in the end. It was my mistake, and I know that. Still, honest mistakes happen, and I wish the hotel had taken a more understanding, human approach instead of focusing only on the money. I’d come from far away for a medical reason, with a hospital appointment booked three weeks earlier and plane tickets already arranged. The rest of the trip went as planned, so I’m sure I made an error on the booking form. Thank you.

We charged the car without any trouble, which was handy since we could arrive with a low battery percentage and leave with it fully charged. Parking was just enough; I chose a space above ground because the underground ones looked quite narrow. The room was small, as expected at an Ibis budget, and fine for sleeping and freshening up. The shower is in the room, so your roommate can see you, which isn’t very convenient if you’re not a couple. You can step outside, wait in reception, or sit on the benches while they shower. There’s a bus stop very close by for the train station in Rennes, with good connections. The train station that takes you to Lausanne is a short walk in the other direction. It’s a good hotel.

The room was tiny, with a bed, shower and toilet, and nowhere to open a suitcase. The facilities are very basic. The location near the motorway is convenient, though. At night, nobody seemed to be attending the underground entrance to the lift lobby, even after I rang the bell repeatedly. After parking, I had to walk upstairs and enter through the main entrance. Very inconvenient.

I had a really bad stay and wouldn’t recommend this hotel. The breakfast was awful for the price, just packaged industrial pastries with nothing fresh or worth paying so much for. Getting around was difficult too. It’s far from the city, a 17 min walk from the train station 🤯, and there’s no accessible transport nearby. The hotel doesn’t make that clear when you book. I called several times asking for directions, but nobody could give me useful information. The facilities were uncomfortable as well.
