The mountain view outside was stunning, and the staff were incredibly kind and calm. Those were the two things I appreciated. Everything else made me wonder whether this was some sort of social experiment. The room looked cozy and cute at first, with its wood and alpine style, but every step made the timber floors groan like they were confessing secrets. I never touched the thermostat, yet the temperature lurched from tropical greenhouse to Arctic station and damp misery. Once I woke up both sweating and freezing. Getting any sleep was a struggle. The mattress felt like concrete, and the pillows were either flat as air bags or huge sacks. I tried piling them up, turning them over, then just accepting it. I slept in short stretches. Sound travelled everywhere too: footsteps, doors, whispers, zippers, coughing, someone sighing, and a 2 a.m. drop that I felt in my soul. The bathroom lights made me feel interrogated by my own reflection. The shower swung from a weak drizzle to a firefighter drill, while the water temperature did whatever it wanted. Breakfast was confusing, and the coffee tasted like it had once been near actual coffee. I ate fast and without hope. Check-in went smoothly, which in retrospect should have warned me. By morning, I was a shell with a thousand-yard stare, having arrived cheerful and rested. I checked out exhausted and wiser, grateful for modern construction elsewhere. One star for the scenery, and for the reminder that sleep is a privilege, not a guarantee.

Francesca’s warm welcome and wonderful hospitality made our stay feel special. In the peaceful setting of Celerina, Hotelino Petit Chalet is a lovely escape we’ll be dreaming about until we return. The place has boutique charm and Alpine style, with cozy character, thoughtful touches, and an atmosphere that felt like home right away. What a find!

I loved my stay here. The staff were so friendly, and breakfast came in the cutest little cart, a delightful touch. The charming hotel is right by the gondola, which is perfect for skiing.

The breakfast portion was so small that eight people couldn’t share it. We felt the guests had been misled, and a male employee who was with us laughed and mocked us. The water supply broke. We did not break it on purpose, but as soon as the water ran out, I was startled, called reception, and was shouted at about 500 francs. They didn’t believe or understand me, and I couldn’t see why we should have to pay that amount. I asked several times for her to speak more quietly, but she kept talking over me and came through the door into our room without permission. I want the CCTV checked to see what they did and how arrogantly they treated us when a problem came up. For a four-star hotel, the service was a mess. Whatever the situation, the hotelier should listen to guests, but they were busy talking at us unilaterally.

The rooms were very clean and up to a high standard, and the hotel’s location is perfect. We had a lovely stay, and the staff were very helpful.
