Everness Hotel & Resort

Travelling solo in Switzerland, I found this hotel absolutely perfect. The views are incredible, and there are walking trails nearby. My room was great and very clean when I arrived. There’s plenty to do at the hotel, including Wellness Facilities, a mini gym, outdoor seating and a pool. The food was ace, and I’d definitely stay here again if I’m near Geneva.

Stany and Dorji made my stay at Everness memorable. They were warm, professional and attentive, always smiling and quick to help with anything I needed. Dorji also went out of the way to make sure I was comfortable and that everything went smoothly. Their kindness and personal service showed real dedication and the spirit of hospitality. People who care that sincerely are rare, and they’re a huge asset to the hotel. Thank you, Stany and Dorji, for such an unforgettable stay. Highly recommended!

The main reason I’m rating this 3/5 instead of the 4/5 I’d planned is what happened at the end of our second evening. We’d reserved dinner at reception for 19:00 under our name and room number. The waitress spoke only French, and we struggled to place even a simple order because she didn’t understand basic words. An American family beside us was clearly having trouble communicating too. At a 4-star hotel in Switzerland, especially near Geneva, I’d expect staff to manage basic English or German. We went back to our room after dinner, assuming the meal would go on the room bill and be paid at checkout, as is standard in many hotels. The waitress saw us leave and greeted us, so it was clear we weren’t trying to avoid paying. At exactly 23:00, reception called the room demanding immediate payment. My wife was asleep and the ringing startled her badly. A few moments later, the same waitress came to our room with a card terminal and took payment there. I found the late call and sending staff to the room completely unacceptable. They could easily have handled the bill in the morning or at checkout. There were plenty of good parts to the stay. The hotel is convenient to reach, the rooms were spotless, the beds comfortable, and breakfast was genuinely very good. Dinner choices were decent and sufficient. The spa is small, but practical and enjoyable, and being able to charge an electric car was a big plus. The room ventilation, however, wasn’t good, despite how clean the room was. With better communication and a more reasonable way to handle payment, the hotel could be excellent. Unfortunately, the incident seriously affected our experience.

The room was outstanding, and the bed was very comfortable. Reception caused no problems: everyone was professional and nice, and they all spoke good English. Breakfast was very good, with a good selection, and the freshly squeezed orange juice was especially nice. The spa was meant to be booked per couple, but when we arrived there were two other couples there at the same time. It’s small, and half of it wasn’t working. The steam room was off and stank. Of the two small wooden tubs outside, only one worked at a time, it fit two people, and it shut off after 15 minutes. The sauna only fits four, so people left early because there was nothing else to do. It was a pure nightmare. Communication at the bar at night was poor too. We ordered shots but got cocktails instead. There wasn’t even an apology, just eye rolling and French conversation we couldn’t understand. We took the cocktails and paid for them. The hotel, room and food were great overall, but they clearly have problems with English.
