The apartment was amazing. Only one room had no curtains, so the lights outside made it pretty bright.

I was pleasantly surprised by Hotel & Hostel Montearina. Its location is hard to beat, just a few minutes on foot from Lugano FFS train station and the city center.

The apartment was nicely furnished, though the walls by the entrance badly need repainting because they’re streaked and stained. The view of the building opposite was dull, too. But what really spoiled the stay was the bathroom smell. When we arrived on Saturday, the apartment smelled awful, and we found the odor was coming from the bathroom. It was so bad it made us nauseous. We contacted Quokka and were told there wouldn’t be a technician until Monday, unless we paid an extra fee. We certainly won’t book this apartment again.
