Solaria Serviced Apartments

We were very happy with our stay at Solaria apartments. Our two-person studio had a small kitchen and a table with two chairs, and it was comfortable. The room seemed well insulated and stayed warm even with the heating off. Parking was included, as was a 20% discount on ski lift tickets for jakobshorn and parsenn.

A good fit for a quiet Davos ski trip focused on skiing. The location works well for both sides of the mountain, and the facilities are modest but adequate. Everything was very clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful without being intrusive.

One of our best stays, with outstanding service. It’s a perfect place for families and cross-country skiers. Thank you!

We stayed at Solaria Apartments in Davos, Switzerland, from 08.02.24 to 10.02.24. Three hours after checking out, we received an email saying 400 CHF would be deducted for property damage, specifically a chair said to be stuck at the back. Photos were attached. The email claimed we had torn the upholstery by dragging the chair across the floors, and cited narrow doors as a reason, since our two families were on different floors. We spoke with the manager and explained there was no reason to move chairs between floors because each apartment had two extra chairs on its terrace. He said that didn’t matter and blamed us anyway. When we asked to see the chair, an employee brought one over. We asked which room it came from, and he named a room with a different 2003 than ours. That didn’t matter to the manager either. He said this was Switzerland and those were the conditions. There were no terms of use posted on the site, and we weren’t given an inventory of the property at check-in or checkout. We insisted on calling local police. After hearing us out, they didn’t take any police action and said the matter wasn’t within their competence. This left a bitter feeling after what had otherwise been an excellent stay. We’ve stayed at Solaria several times, and this time friends came with us. They were disappointed by the owner’s behavior. We felt insulted by being accused of damage without proof. After repairs, we saw a protective strip had been added halfway up the wall. The chair was three years old, so perhaps it had simply worn down over time, but we didn’t expect this treatment. Future and current guests should inspect all the furniture from every side, as well as floors, walls, lights, and electrical appliances, so they don’t end up in the same situation. We’re asking anyone interested to help us clear the good name and reputation of local tourism through legal support. We still have warm feelings toward all the Swiss people who work hard to make guests feel satisfied in your wonderful country. With our best wishes, the Mihalevi family!
