Gasthaus Sternen

We won't be returning, mainly because the service was so bad. Staff were unreachable and unfriendly, and before 11:00 AM I couldn't find anyone to help or take payment. I went back to the inn three times to settle the bill, without getting an apology or explanation. The room had good bedding, and the windows kept out noise when closed. The inn is in the village center beside the church, whose bells ring if you need them. Some rooms have a bathroom in the hallway. Don't order the "breakfast." I saw the room chart too late, which suggested places to get coffee. For CHF 15, we had to make coffee ourselves in a conference room, with no milk, tea, or water available. The yogurt was in a small fridge, and we had to eat it with a fork because there were no spoons. The bread and croissants were dry and from the day before. The small portions of butter seemed to have been left on the table all night. There was also a small board in the fridge with cold cuts and two little pieces of cheese.

The service was so friendly and welcoming. We had the hot stone meat, which was really tender, and the fajitas are worth recommending too. The food was excellent, and the portions were generous. Great restaurant!

I think dinner is best ordered by following the owners' suggestions, since they're so good in the kitchen. They're friendly and skilled, and the place is clean, quiet, and well run. It's a charming little hotel, typical of a mountain village, with good rooms and a good family. The CHF 12 breakfast seems like a bargain to me. We didn't try it this time because we were short on time, but next time, if we can take it slow, I bet it'll be refreshing.

We only ordered fries, but they were fantastic, crispy and seasoned just right. The restaurant has a really inviting atmosphere, and the service was attentive and super friendly. We were impressed as soon as we visited this lovely place. We'll be back!
