Even now, our family still talks about the fond memories we made at Villa Donkey. We stayed there for four nights, one of several places we visited, during the May 2023 shoulder season. We were warmly welcomed and really enjoyed the stay, including the chance to meet other Swiss families and spend time with the host family. We were visiting Switzerland during hiking season for the first time. After an earlier ski holiday here, an expat had told us how wonderful and child-friendly hiking is for young children. One day, when the hosts were free, they showed us how to make Swiss-style snake bread and bake it over an open fire. Villa Donkey is a hidden gem in Eastern Switzerland and a good base if you're planning a driving holiday in the region. This review is long overdue.

I had no plans, but the helpful staff found me something to do on both days. They also let me leave my bags there after checkout. It's a super cozy place to stay, very clean, and breakfast is included. I can only recommend it :)

It looks nice, with roomy rooms, a kitchen, and good wifi. The house is old, but everything works. For what it costs, it was worth it.
