City Stay Apartments Ringstrasse

I signed in May and moved in June, but City Stay Apartments only told tenants about construction 1-2 weeks before the work actually began. I mean they should have told us PRIOR to signing, back in May. The building work has already been going on for 3.5 months, and potential tenants weren't told before agreeing to rent. Since June they've replaced the windows and doors in all the apartments, and renovations in the basement are still underway. This week they started demolishing the stairs to the main entrance. I’d be happy to see where my contract mentions any of this. I’m attaching some pictures in the guests part and will add more as the work continues. Dear City Stay Apartments, please read this with understanding. I used one sentence and simple vocabulary. Here’s a hint: the key word is PRIOR. Hugs and kisses.

The renovation affected our whole stay at the Ringstrasse apartment in Brüttisellen. We heard drilling on many days, dealt with a strong smell, and had to keep the windows shut while the outside walls were being painted, even during the hottest days of summer. They changed the doors and windows, worked on the entrance and renovated the basement. The work began in June and was expected to continue until around November. We rented for at least three months, but City Stay never said a word about the construction, even though they knew. We were given the usual price and asked for a deposit. Had we known, there was no chance we would have rented it. It felt like they kept quiet so they could collect rent during the renovation. Getting information about the apartment before we chose it in May was already complicated, and we didn't have much budget or another option. After we checked out at the end of October, getting our deposit back was another fight. I called to ask when the transfer would happen, and Anna Hermann was rude. She said our pans were very dirty and we had to pay, and even threatened that we probably wouldn't get ANY of our 2000 CHF deposit back. In the end they returned part of it, charging us for the pans and extra cleaning. They sent a fixed charge by email, but when I asked for an official invoice, the amount turned out to be wrong and they owed us 29 CHF. They'd miscalculated and did nothing until I asked for the invoice. I also had a Friday off after a hard week and wanted to sleep, but the drilling started around 7:30 in the morning, as always. I was so angry and desperate that I called them almost crying and asked for a refund for our whole stay. They agreed to refund 200 CHF for each month, which is almost nothing compared with the real cost of over 2200 CHF per month. I have so much disrespect for this company. Their customer service and business conduct showed zero understanding. I simply would NOT RECOMMEND renting any apartment from them. Even if you feel you have no other choice, please consider Vision Apartments or something similar. It costs more, but in the end you get decent customer service. The apartment was fully booked during my stay, with a lot of Indian people who weren't complaining, for whatever reason. Maybe you won't have the same experience I did, but based on how they treated us, I'd avoid this company if you care about customer service. Thanks for reading.

The staff are cordial and quick to help, and the apartment is clean, neat, and spacious enough, with all the basic facilities you need. It's close to the Brandbachstrasse bus stop and Dietlikon railway station, plus a large Coop at the Dietlikon Center and an Ikea. Altbach is right nearby and has a peaceful setting, with a forest just a few hundred metres away. I highly recommend it for a stay in Brüttisellen or Dietlikon.

The apartments are nice and clean, and they respond to requests right away.
