The staff really made the difference, especially Ismael, Cora (bar) and Remona (reception), and the location was perfect. Rooms are just functional, no more and no less, but the showers were good and the linen was fresh and clean. Breakfast and dinner were perfect. One practical tip: we pre-ordered the skipass online, which was valid for the next day. If you go up to the hostel after 15:00, though, the pass becomes valid then, so it's actually active from the day before. If I could suggest anything, I'd add a boiled egg at breakfast and move the hostel bar upstairs to the bridge instead of keeping it downstairs.

We were lucky to get a separate room for two, with our own toilet and shower. It's simple and costs more, but much more comfortable than the four-person bunk-bed rooms. The hostel, station café, and dining restaurant seem to have improved since my last visit. Reception is now upstairs and easy to reach, ordering and paying at the café are fully automated, and dinner at the restaurant downstairs was good. The whole setup feels more efficient. Dinner service was still quite slow, the ski storage is too small (though they let us bring skis into the room), and the station gets extremely crowded on weekends. Even so, staying overnight in the mountains and getting straight onto the slopes in the morning without a hassle is a joy.

We stayed from 27th december 24 to 4th January 25, and had a 4bed room with shower and toilet to share with others. The views were fantastic, and the hostel was a fantastic place with great people. Facilities stayed very clean and tidy, and the staff were kind and helpful and made us feel welcome. Breakfast and dinner were included in the price, and the food was delicious. The guys could ask for another serving at dinner and got one. For New Year's Eve, there was a delicious five-course menu, then Cava at midnight at no extra cost. I absolutely recommend this hostel.

With small kids, it was stressful having no lounge or communal space to hang out in. The rooms are small and really just for sleeping, so this didn't feel family friendly. The place was clean, but definitely not a four-star stay to me, more like one star and suited to young people who ski all day. They say it's non-smoking, but the whole building reeks of smoke and makes your eyes water.

You can be first onto the slopes in the morning since the place is right in the center of the ski resort. The accommodation is basic, but the food is great, and most rooms have bunk beds for four. It's probably not the best spot for après-ski, since you have to catch the last gondola up around 16:30-17:00 or walk :-)
