The street crowd got very loud now and then, which was my one concern. Even so, I’d stay again. It’s a nice place in town, an easy 5-10 minute walk from the train station, and it has an elevator, which some other places don’t. Staff were friendly and helpful. I skipped breakfast, but the room had plenty going for it: a large fridge with a freezer, lots of storage, a big table for meals or other use, and plenty of space.

The Wi-Fi kept failing and my system flagged it as unsafe. The layout and design were all over the place too: there’s a kitchen with a stove that’s been disconnected, plus a cramped bathroom where you literally have to step over the toilet to get to the shower. Other than that, of course, everything’s perfect.

There’s a lot of storage and the room is huge, though the kitchen is small. It’s only a short walk from the train station. Reception isn’t open for long hours, but the staff were friendly.

A quiet room is possible if you’re away from the street, and the view of the Fribourg Alps is beautiful. The location makes it easy to get to the train station, the old town, and pretty much anywhere you’d want to go in Fribourg.

We were a large group there for four nights in November 2023, and many of us complained about the noise. One person couldn’t sleep and had to book another room. The hotel knew some rooms were very noisy and poorly insulated, but didn’t tell us before booking them. Then they charged us for the room that was ridiculously loud and impossible to rest in, and were completely uncooperative. We won’t be back.
