Chalet Bergwelt

The location was great, but the house itself was a letdown. The lights didn't all work, and a cable was hanging out of the wall onto the floor. When we arrived last weekend, December 13th to 14th, the temperature outside was about 8°C (46°F) in the shade, and inside it was only 10°C (50°F). Nothing had been heated. The check-in was the worst part. My brother had booked it, but we were given the wrong key code and couldn't reach anyone. After searching around for a long time, we found someone who came over, but they had the same code and two phone numbers. We eventually reached the cleaning staff, who gave us a working code. It took more than 30 minutes to get inside, and the place was still freezing. Absolutely outrageous!

It’s a magnificent place, which makes the poor upkeep a shame. The cleanliness was barely acceptable, and the outdoor grill still had bits left by the previous occupant. Downstairs, the bathroom is very old and needs renovating. Even the shower curtain was awful, despite being something that shouldn’t cost more than 20 CHF.

We had a lovely weekend with the whole family and would happily return. Just keep in mind that taxes and pool access cost extra. For our 10 people, we had to pay another 80 CHF in cash on site, and it would’ve been much more convenient to pay by credit card in advance. We also ran short of dishwasher tablets, and the stove didn’t work very well.

The location and views are excellent, but the shared area is small and needs cleaning. The place feels disorganized, with old furniture from all over the place, and the fireplaces and grills were dirty. There’s no heating.
