MOOI Apartments Grenchen

We’ve stayed at this apartment complex twice, for four weeks once and a week another time. Everything runs electronically. Before arrival, you get an email with codes for the building, garage and laundry room, so you don’t need keys. We chose a one bedroom on the ground floor for the longer visit, and it was very clean when we arrived. The location in Grenchen is nice. The apartment was furnished with a pullout couch, a comfortable queen bed with a nice duvet and pillows, plenty of space for two, a closet, shelves, drawers, a desk and two end tables. There’s a washer and dryer on site, accessed through the we wash app. The fridge is a good size for Switzerland, with a small freezer where I could keep my favorite Swiss ice cream and popsicles. The apartment was cleaned weekly, and the cleaning was done well. The outside area had a table, chairs and an outlet, so we could make Raclette there. I just wish the ground floor space had more privacy. It was mostly quiet. Sometimes on Friday or Saturday we could hear neighbors chatting outside, but that was fine. There were some issues. After the first shower, the bathroom floor flooded. We didn’t have enough towels to mop it up and still have towels for ourselves. My husband called and emailed right away, but got no reply. The bathroom stayed wet for days until we met someone in the garage who did maintenance. He made a few adjustments, which helped, although it still leaked, so we asked housekeeping for extra towels and they provided them. The electronic key also didn’t work from the parking garage because there was no Wi-Fi, so we always had to punch in the code. For a longer stay, one kitchen towel a week isn’t enough. There were no oven mitts, and the supplied kitchen towels were too thin to use for that. A small bottle of dish soap to start with would have been useful. Traffic can be noisy, so ask for a room away from the street if that would bother you. The couch wasn’t comfortable to sit on, so we were glad it converted to a bed. Some dishes had an oily film, and some cups were still wet, but there was a dishwasher, so I could clean everything before using it. For our second, seven day stay, we had a second floor apartment. It was quite dusty when we arrived, and I wish they’d dusted it first. The shower leaked there too, though not as badly. We had just one bath towel and one hand towel between us, so we called housekeeping for more. The upper floor balcony was huge, which was a real plus even for a short stay. These apartments can sleep three, but that would feel crowded to me, since there’d be nowhere for the third person’s luggage or clothes in the front room.
