Hotel Steinbock

We came back for dinner on a rainy day and ordered pizza and pasta. Both were delicious. Lucia served us on both visits with a big smile, so friendly, attentive, and efficient. She’s a real asset to the restaurant and deserves a big raise. Thank you!

This was the first hotel and reservation for the Alliance gemeinde church meeting in Grindelwald. The wine and café are perfect. One is enough, two aren’t needed, and three is too much.

The rooms are spacious, very clean, and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Reception waited for our late check-in and helped us with parking. There’s free parking, and Grindelwald station is about a 15-minute walk away. The hotel gives guests a card for free local bus rides, and a stop right in front goes to Grindelwald Terminal for Jungfraujoch or Männlichen. Breakfast was tasty and filling, with coffee, tea, omelets, bread, cheese, and juice. Ristorante Pizzeria Da Salvi, the hotel’s Italian restaurant, serves authentic pizza and pasta at fair mid-range prices for the area. We’d gladly stay here again.

The first mountain cable car is right beside the Hotel, which was great. The staff were super helpful and friendly, and I really enjoyed the stay. The pizza downstairs was delicious, and so was breakfast.
