Hotel Rv Tia

We were in Switzerland for the first time, and my family and I spent one night in Ilanz. We chose to eat here. The food was good and everyone was happy with their meal. Our waiter did a nice job helping us through the menus, which were only in German, and made it a pleasant visit. Sitting outside was nice, with a good atmosphere. One thing we didn't like was that one person's meal arrived early enough for them to finish before the rest of us were served. Not sure if that's typical here for groups. Also, the menus weren't in English, the world language.

The rooms were just OK, nothing special, and could be much better. In July it was around 24°C outside, but even hotter in the hotel. I paid for a room, not a sauna. Opening the windows might have helped with the heat, except the street was noisy in the evenings with parties and early in the morning with deliveries, shouting, and people carrying loud things. The thin curtains barely blocked any light either. Check-in took almost 15 minutes. We had booked through Booking, but the receptionist kept insisting we pay a second time.

The restaurant was the highlight for me. The food was excellent and reasonably priced, and I was happy to have dinner there both nights. Service was very good too, especially from the hospitable, polite woman who spoke native English. The hotel itself is simple, with few room amenities. I had a room with a shared shower, and both the room and shower were clean and nicely designed. There were flies, so I had to keep the windows shut at night to avoid them, which made the room very hot. I also noticed a faint cigarette smell in the corridor.

We came for a business lunch and they had no bread. When I complained, the waiter got aggressive instead of apologizing. As a customer, I was treated like s**t. The owner also employs his 13.5-year-old daughter as a summer-job waitress, which to my knowledge is illegal. Worst service ever. Don't go here.
