The stained, dirty rugs in the entrance and hallway were already off-putting, and the room itself was so cramped we could barely get past each other. The mattress dipped in the middle and the pillows were awful, so we woke up with backaches every morning. In the shower, my elbow kept knocking the faucet and shutting off the water. Definitely not worth the price.

We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and the room was really clean. Interlaken West is only about a five-minute walk away, which made the location great.

The location made getting around easy: Interlaken West station and a supermarket are both about a five-minute walk away. We cooked all our meals in the well-stocked kitchenette, and there’s a washer and dryer behind the building for 5 francs each, coins only. We stayed four nights. The hosts were friendly and helpful throughout, and our room was clean with no other problems. The bed and pillows could have been more comfortable, though, and with the windows open we had little privacy because our room faced the ground-floor laundry.

The apartment was pleasant and had enough furnishings. Its biggest downside in summer is the heat, especially on the top floor, since there’s no air conditioning. The owners were extremely nice and helpful, and it’s conveniently close to both a train station and a bus station.
