We had a reservation for ten and were seated promptly at the back with the other large groups. Helena, our main server, was a gem: quick, funny, and helpful with everyone’s questions. The garlic soup is decadent, and the menu has traditional Swiss dishes alongside pizza and burgers. The pizza was one of the best I’ve had anywhere, and we’ll definitely return during our trip. I can’t comment on the hotel since we only stopped in for dinner.

We ate quite late, so it felt more like a pub than a restaurant, but we still enjoyed it. The pizza was good and fairly priced, and the staff were very friendly.

The dormitory was much better than average, with lots of space, a very clean room, and a great shower and bathroom area. The owners and staff were really nice, and the included breakfast was fresh and very good. The town location is convenient, about a 12-minute walk from the train station and 17 minutes from the lake entrance. I only managed to stay one night and wished I could have stayed longer. I’d come back or recommend it to a friend.

The showers were great, with plenty of space, individual sinks, towels, and a hair dryer, and everything was very clean. My room was basic, as expected, but incredibly clean, comfortable, quiet, and felt safe. Staff were friendly, and shops and restaurants are close by. I absolutely loved my time in Kandersteg and would recommend it.
