Seiler´s Vintage Hotel & Spa

We came by at the last minute because of the great location, were shown several rooms, and chose to stay. Breakfast was really good. This was the only hotel on our vacation to have a coffee maker in the room, which we especially appreciated as early risers.

The location is beautiful, and Kandersteg station is an easy walk away. It’s a really lovely family-run hotel, with a cheerful staff who were as helpful as could be. Breakfast had a good choice, and we enjoyed some delicious dinners too. I’d definitely come back.

We loved the spacious room and its balcony looking out over the village and snow-covered mountains. The hotel has an interesting history, and everything was clean. The food and service were excellent, and there’s a small pool, sauna and steam rooms. We walked to the frozen lake, where the restaurant was serving coffee, cake and light meals. It took a little over an hour to get up, and the climb is quite steep, but the scenery is spectacular. It’s an experience not to miss. The ski jump arena is apparently the only one in Switzerland. The cable cars were between seasons and temporarily closed during our visit, so it’s worth checking their schedule. I’d definitely stay here again.

The room was spotless, though a bit small, and had a lovely balcony overlooking the mountains. The double room’s furnishings were basic, and the mattress was too soft. There was a capsule coffee machine but no minibar. The shower was fine, clean and supplied with everything, but the toilet was uncomfortably close to the wall. The room stayed very warm even with the heating off, despite single-digit temperatures outside. That might be nice in winter, but it was too warm for May. The window can’t be tilted, so you have to leave the door open. It’s a beautiful spot, close to the Oeschinensee trails and cable car. There’s a bus stop right nearby, and the station is a five-minute walk away. Staff are friendly. The hotel has a sauna and spa, an indoor pool heated to 30 degrees, and a panoramic relaxation deck. Breakfast was decent, mostly using local produce.
