Hotel Piz Buin

We had a sports massage arranged through the hotel, and it was great. The pool and sauna were nice, the restaurant was very good, and our rooms were cleaned thoroughly with supplies replenished every day. The staff were always smiling, quick to respond, and happy to help with any query. The setting beside a picturesque stream was lovely, and the train station and cable car were a five-minute walk away. We can't think of anything we weren't happy with and would definitely come back if we're in the area.

The bus stop is right by the hotel entrance, and the ski rental shop is just a minute away. The restaurant is good and the service is great.

If half stars were possible, I'd give it 3.5. The rooms were good, the spa especially beautiful, and the front desk staff were friendly and gave us very good hiking advice. Overall, we had a good stay. Breakfast was the clear weak point. There's a mouse in the restaurant, and staff clearly know about it. I don't mind the mouse itself so much, but it leaves droppings under the coffee machine, which is a hygiene issue. The breakfast also doesn't feel up to a four-star hotel, and an industrial self-service coffee machine isn't what I'd expect. The older short-haired waitress was clearly unsympathetic when I didn't speak German. After I told her the cheese platter was empty, she made me wait 20 minutes for a refill, repeatedly saying, "moment."

We had a very nice, comfortable room with a bathroom and balcony, and dinner and breakfast were good. The sauna area was modern and really nice, with two large saunas and a steam room. The hotel is in a great spot in central Klosters, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. There's parking on site, but the receptionist directed us to the public car park across the road. It costs Fr0.50 per hour and is free from 1800 to 0800.
