Hotel Plaza

The location was good, within walking distance of konstance, and for 10 euros extra we got breakfast, which wasn't a bad deal. We booked a four-bed room, but it was tiny with hardly any space. The shower area was very small, and having only a curtain instead of a door wasn't something we liked.

The restaurant was quite nice, with good food and quick service. We booked this odd hotel in an emergency. The rooms were clean, but room 38 had extra mattresses and bedframes left haphazardly in both the room and corridor. There was no fan. The receptionist was pleasant, though his boss interrupted rudely from a small office in the restaurant without any clear reason. He hadn't said who he was, so it wasn't even clear he was the hotel boss.

During our one-night stay, the older man who sits in the room behind the main reception desk, maybe the owner, was incredibly rude to us twice. In the early evening I went to reception just to ask for a menu, and he got really angry. I left in tears. I had no idea why he reacted like that. It was a basic request, and his response was completely uncalled for. It ruined our stay. I've never had such horrible treatment at a hotel.

The rooms were very clean, and the staff were friendly. The food was good and reasonably priced. It's conveniently close to the German border. There is no air-conditioning in the rooms, so it can get a little warm in summer.
