The only real drawback was the traffic outside, which could be noisy with the balcony door open. Otherwise, the apartment-style room had everything: a small kitchen with a stove, oven, fridge, and coffee maker, plus a washer and dryer in the bathroom. The equipment seemed new, and the coffee maker looked unused. We had a spacious balcony with a table and chairs for breakfast, and the beds were comfortable with no backache. Everything was clean, including for someone with a dust allergy. The location on the Swiss side worked well, about a 10-minute walk to Konstanz's old town, and it cost less than staying in Konstanz itself. There's a Thai restaurant connected to the hotel, where the friendly staff also handle check-in.

The staff were really friendly, and the room was both spacious and very clean.

We had a nice stay, but some basic upkeep was missing. There were no hangers in the closet, the television only offered YouTube or Netflix, and the coffee capsules wouldn't work in the machine.

When we arrived, the reception was unattended and we had to sort things out by phone. That's when the hotel discovered our room had been double-booked, despite our booking being made weeks earlier and already paid for. They hadn't let us know about the problem beforehand.

Getting any help at check-in was difficult: although the listing said reception was staffed until 11 p.m., nobody was physically there. A phone number was posted at the entrance gate, and someone called back only after repeated calls. The room description also promised a sofa, but there were armchairs instead, which is a real difference. At around €175, I expected basic cleanliness, and the room didn't meet that standard. With the temperature at an estimated 25°C or more, poor air quality, and no air conditioning or even a fan, sleeping comfortably was out of the question. I can't recommend the place. Work has given me a lot of insight into hotels, and sometimes a B&B hotel is the better choice.
