I love The Wildhorn. It's one of the few places around Gstaad that still feels truly traditional, with authentic food and excellent quality. The salad is fantastic, and they bring French dressing in a little bottle on the side so you can add as much as you like. That feels like a real luxury. I had the Gemspfeffer during game season, and it was cooked perfectly. The service is warm and friendly. It's also a great spot for fondue and other Swiss classics, and the terrace is lovely in summer. I hope they keep this special place just as it is.

We had such a nice time with friends and I'm already looking forward to coming back. The waitress, who is of Spanish origin, looked after us really well, and we got a warm welcome. I had the Gstaad rösti, which was delicious.

The owner and staff were very friendly, and we had a lovely stay. It's only a few minutes on foot from the bus stop, so I'd recommend it for a Lauenen visit focused on outdoor activities. We stayed in a room with a shared toilet and bathroom. The bed was comfortable, though the pillows weren't great, and there was a small balcony. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent: I had rösti with vegetables in cream sauce, schnitzel, and walnut ice cream, while my partner had chocolate ice cream. They can provide vegetarian and vegan options. Breakfast was included, with a typical selection of bread, cereal, cheese, and similar things.

The worst hospitality service. I called to book a room, and the manager answered by saying he was busy, then hung up on me.

The location is remote, with little to do nearby, and getting to the slopes takes a while. You need a car or the local bus. There was no place to store skis or warm boots, either. The staff weren't very polite or proactive. The rooms are spacious and clean, but cold. Breakfast was adequate for a three-star hotel, and parking was available right next to the building.
