Hôtel du Port

This was an important part of our trip, so it was especially disappointing to be moved to another hotel. We'd booked a lake-view room but were given a moldy room at the back. It smelled, and I rebooked elsewhere. When we complained, the owner became very emotional and said, “You can complain to the booking site. We are just doing what we are told, and we cannot change the room or refund anything.” The lake-view room was still listed online that day. He then left the hotel and wouldn't speak with us any further. I felt he was the sort of businessperson who thinks only of himself. I've seen similar reviews, mainly from Asian tourists, though I don't know whether that's the reason or just a coincidence. Either way, if you don't want to risk a disappointing trip, I'd advise avoiding this hotel. Sincerely.

The room was the real treat: right under the roof, looking out over the lake and marina, with a big bathtub. It felt dreamy. The little hotel sits by the lake, the staff are friendly, and it's affordable by Swiss standards. The breakfast buffet wasn't much to write home about, though, and the breakfast room was freezing.

The lake view was beautiful, and having the metro so easy to reach made the stay fantastic. Our room was super clean, and the staff were really friendly and courteous. The restaurant staff were lovely too, especially at breakfast, and very accommodating.

My room was small but pleasant and clean, and most of the staff speak English. The hotel is just across the road from Lake Geneva, with a reasonably priced restaurant attached. An interesting extra is that a stay currently includes a 15-day public transport pass.
