ibis Styles Lausanne Center Mad House

I had a great stay here. It's a cute, cozy and comfortable hotel right above public transport, with a promenade of shops, restaurants and bars nearby. The bar and restaurant have a good vibe and good food. The five or six staff members I met were all outstanding.

The helpful, friendly check-in staff were a bright spot, since I knew I only needed a central room for one night and wasn't expecting somewhere peaceful or relaxing. My room was very small and could use renovation and restructuring. Breakfast was disappointing. The buffet woman handled it badly, and the so-called scrambled eggs came from a package, cold and absolutely disgusting. There was no fresh bread either. Only after we asked several times did baguettes arrive, 20 minutes later.

There's plenty at breakfast, and the staff are both friendly and professional. The hotel is right in the middle of Lausanne Font, next to the Metro, and its quirky feel adds to the atmosphere. The rooms are on the small side but clean and tidy. Some of the public areas on the way to the rooms look tired and need an upgrade.

The staff were welcoming, and the location is very central, but also extremely noisy. My room was tiny, and the bathroom setup made it impossible to shower without flooding the room. For what things cost in Lausanne, I suppose this is just okay.
