Youth Hostel Leissigen

I found this place while traveling around Switzerland and liked it so much I extended my stay. The setting felt like a dream, with crystal-clear lake water for swimming and stand-up paddleboarding. Everything was so relaxing, and the staff were super friendly. Breakfast was a lovely surprise. I highly recommend it and am already planning another visit.

The beds were acceptable as long as you didn’t end up in a bunk. The shared shower timer was very short, so you had to keep remembering to reset it, and noise travels through the thin walls. The shared toilet can wake you up. Breakfast was okay. It’s an okay hostel in a good location, but quite expensive. The road there is a little tight, and the locals don’t seem to like the shared traffic.

There’s a beautiful garden where you can relax, and the property is right by the lovely Lake Thun, ideal for swimming and enjoying the clean water. It’s also close to Interlaken, just one or two train stops away. We stayed at the Leissigen property about two weeks ago for one night, and the location was awesome. The whole team made us feel very welcome.

We had a party here and had a great time in and out of the water. It’s right on the lake shore, and the rooms were tidy with wonderful views. The staff were kind, and breakfast was nice too. A good place to stay when you’re driving by.
