Hôtel Central Résidence

The dinner buffet was much better than breakfast. The hotel is handy for the slopes, and there’s a bus stop right outside. It’s an old place, though, and the rooms and carpets feel dated, with a few things not working. Staff were helpful. There’s an outdoor heated pool, an indoor pool, a sauna, and massage services. We had both breakfast and dinner included.

For the price, I expected more. The location is beautiful and the view is great, but the building feels dated and some hotel systems, like buffet replenishment, are poorly managed. Service was disappointing too: staff weren’t very friendly and seemed less helpful because we didn’t speak French. The wellness area let us down, with cold pool water, a often-crowded jacuzzi, and showers in the changing room that didn’t always work.

The Alps and outdoor pool looked amazing from our little balcony. Our tour group stayed five days, and the hotel’s lobby and huge dining room have a typical Swiss style. The ground-floor room was clean and spacious, though sparsely furnished, which was fine. There was no refrigerator. Everyone spoke English, and service was consistently pleasant and efficient. Breakfast and dinner each day offered lots of delicious choices, replenished promptly. The heated indoor pool, jacuzzi, and sauna were a big plus.

The pork cheek at the buffet was especially good, and at 35chf it was totally worth it. Food was excellent, and service was great from reception through the restaurant. The spa, sauna, and pools are all excellent for an old hotel. Paul at reception was super helpful, thank you! They also have the best sirop I’ve ever tasted, free at reception and paid for at the restaurant. Definitely recommend.
