Albergo Losone

We had day trips planned around Ticino, where there's so much to do, but wished we'd had longer at the resort. Our week at Albergo Losone was a real treat for the kids, ages 6 and 4. They made full use of the kids club, play area, swimming pool, and pitch & putt, where they loved hitting golf balls. The staff were lovely and made us feel at home. Cif made origami animals for the children every night and helped my husband and me practise German, Cantonese, and French. Barbara at the spa was lovely and made our 6-year-old daughter feel special with a manicure. The food was delicious, with lots of choice each evening. We thought half board was fantastic. On checkout day we had to leave very early, and the staff kindly packed us lunch and had coffee ready. Thank you, we'd love to come back.

We loved how friendly and attentive the staff were, and the hotel itself is beautiful and inviting. It's a fantastic family resort where parents and children can relax and enjoy themselves. The food was excellent, and having the breakfast buffet open until noon was a real plus. We'll definitely come back.

Even though the menus are only in Italian and German, I got by fine as an English-only tourist. Most phones can translate an image these days, and my iPhone can. Molto bene!! The menu was wonderful, and the staff were amazing. After a particularly torturous trip from Manchester, UK, to Zurich and then Locarno, their warm welcome lifted my spirits straight away. This was part of a Switzerland tour package, and it may be the nicest, most wonderful and friendliest hotel I've stayed in. I apologise for speaking only English, you wonderful Europeans who speak so many languages!

The kids' facilities are great: there's a baby pool, a heated pool, and a larger unheated one. The indoor play area is enormous, and the teachers keep the little ones busy and well looked after during childcare. The outdoor play space is also put together with lots of care. You can see goats, fish, and ponies around the grounds, and free bike rental is included. We rode along the river Maggia. The rooms are spacious and look out over green fields. It's a perfect family stay, with Ascona just 5 minutes away and Locarno 10 minutes away.
