We’ve come back several times over the past few years and have always been pleased. The Elena team are exceptionally kind and helpful, and make it easy to feel at home. Dogs are welcome too. The rooms are very clean and have what you need, including a minibar, safe, walk-in shower, and terrace. There’s also a garden with a pool and a good breakfast buffet. They’re happy to accommodate special requests. We always enjoy returning and can wholeheartedly recommend the hotel.

The only tiny snag was breakfast: nobody told us that egg dishes could be ordered separately, though that’s really just nitpicking. Otherwise, after four days at Albergo Elena, we have nothing but praise. Reception and the rest of the staff were extremely friendly, and our clean garden-view room had comfortable mattresses and a great bathroom. The location is very quiet, with local attractions easy to reach. In good weather, the garden and pool are perfect for relaxing. Highly recommended, and we’ll be back.

Getting to Ascona or Locarno takes about five minutes, and there are many restaurants nearby as well as beautiful hiking trails. The hotel and rooms are very nice and well maintained, and the service is so friendly that money is the last thing on your mind, the opposite of how vacation can feel. Absolutely fabulous, and recommended for families or couples with dogs.
