Romantik Hotel Wilden Mann

My third-floor room was large, squeaky-clean, and had great views over the surrounding streets. I loved the antique furniture and the best pillows I’ve found in a hotel. The breakfast in the ball room and dining experience in the Burgerstube were top-notch, and the staff were very polite. It’s a lovely boutique hotel with heaps of character, right in the old town of Luzern. Most highlights are an easy walk away, and it’s about 10 minutes from the main train station. My only issue was the shower head and hose. The water wouldn’t mix properly, and switching from the battery to the shower made it jump from freezing to scalding with the slightest movement of the handle. When I told the front desk, they said it was because the hotel was old and nothing could be done. That’s why I’m giving it 4 instead of 5 stars.

The concierge goes out of his way to help you get familiar with the city, and the breakfast is very complete, with the staff running it well. There are cozy lounges where you can relax with a cup of tea. Lovely boutique hotel in a spot where you can walk to all the sites. Highly recommend.

The room had what I needed, and the vanity kit was a nice touch. I couldn’t get any of the English channels, including CNN and BBC, which was a downside. Breakfast was good, and I loved that the coffee was strong!

The front desk was so helpful with suggestions for things to do and restaurants to try. My room was beautiful, and having a full tub was the cherry on top. From walking in to checking out, everything was top-notch. Such a charming hotel and location. 10/10 stay, and I hope I can come back someday.
