Hotel Gabbani

The breakfast was generous, with fresh fruit and meat, and the room was spacious. The hotel is well placed for walking around Lugano and enjoying the town. I was there for work and missed having a desk or somewhere to sit and work in the room. I’d recommend it if you don’t need to work from your room.

The location, design, and food are all very good. We stayed in a standard room last year and in the top level duplex this year, but both rooms were too hot. You can’t adjust the temperature, so opening the windows is the only option, and then you hear noise from the restaurants and outside. The mattresses are far too stiff and there are no proper toppers, so getting a good night’s sleep wasn’t possible. The reception’s response was the worst part. They didn’t seem willing to understand that things could be improved, and just let us leave with excuses. They didn’t try to fix the situation or value our feedback. It may be a great restaurant, but I wouldn’t go there if you want to sleep properly.

The old building in downtown Lugano has been completely renovated, and my room was lovely, with a large bathroom. Breakfast was high quality, especially the homemade brioche, and the food was mostly local and great. There’s also a large wine selection for wine lovers. Don’t miss eating here.

We were there for a wedding from September 5-9, 2019, and would definitely stay again. Check-in was easy, and our room was immaculate. The staff were friendly, courteous, and very helpful. Food was available between meal times, and breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the hotel were all wonderful. Gabbani provided the wedding reception food, which was totally amazing.
