The breakfast was incredible, especially the handmade pastries. I've never been so impressed by a hotel breakfast. My husband and I had a wonderful honeymoon stay at this grand hotel, which is within walking distance of the city center. The staff impressed us most. They answered our questions in the months before we arrived and helped throughout the stay. Ricardo at reception and both Sofias at the spa deserve a special mention.

We were welcomed warmly and looked after attentively from beginning to end. Hotel Splendide Royal in Lugano exceeded our expectations, and the views of Lake Lugano made every moment feel special. It was a lovely mix of elegance, comfort, and Swiss hospitality.

Alfredo from the F&B team took time to explain the hotel's restaurants and even showed us the wine cellar, which was a fantastic experience. At the spa, Lisa was very attentive and made sure we had a relaxing, enjoyable time. Luigi at reception welcomed us so warmly and took great care of us throughout our stay. His service was impeccable and made us feel special. We had a perfect stay at the Splendide Royal in Lugano, and highly recommend it. We look forward to coming back.

Room 106 had a lovely view of Lake Lugano and a spacious balcony. The staff were professional, friendly, and helpful. The location was very convenient: the town center is about a 10-minute walk, or you can take bus no 1 using the Ticino ticket most hotels provide. The Paradisio boat terminal is another option for visiting lakeside towns. We took the boat to Gandria and Morcote, and the funicular to Monte San Salvatore is also within walking distance. Two thumbs up from me.

The breakfast was amazing, the waiters were great, housekeeping did a very good job, and the hotel has beautiful amenities and a lovely pool. We had a very good stay, but the room we were in was extremely old and needs serious renovation. I'd recommend choosing a lake-view room, since otherwise the rooms are really dark. For such an expensive hotel, I expected better rooms.
