Hotel Boldern is a manageable walk from Männedorf, though the hill is quite steep. The nearby forest is peaceful and lovely, and the views are amazing. The staff were consistently friendly, kind, and thoughtful without being overbearing. Room service was prompt and polite, and kept the room in good order. It works very well for people with disabilities, with wide automatic doors and accessible bathrooms. The rooms are quite minimal, which I think is the Swiss German style. There’s a safe in the closet, which I appreciated, but don’t expect toothbrushes or mints on your pillow. Vegan options could be better. Breakfast items aren’t labelled for dietary needs, and there’s no plant milk. The staff kindly let me keep my plant milk in their fridge, and the grocery stores in town have a good range of vegan ready meals, so it’s manageable, just not ideal. Labels on the food and plant milk being provided would make a big difference. The restaurant has a vegan option, but it’s uninspired. There’s another restaurant a short walk away that’s absolutely incredible, and I’d recommend it to vegans instead. Thank you for a lovely stay!

My aunt was charged twice today, 27.08, once at check-in and again at check-out. We called for an explanation, and they told us to contact her bank, which confirmed the double charge. When we called again later that evening, the voicemail said they were on holidays. I need a call back ASAP or I’ll go to the police. My aunt’s name is Sarah.

Hotel Boldern AG is a peaceful base for exploring the region, with nature close by and scenic views of Lake Zurich and the mountains. The rooms are comfortable, and the restaurant and bar serve meals and drinks. Some guests may find it a little dated and short on modern amenities, but the overall experience is positive. A good option if you want a quiet escape with beautiful views.

I stayed here for a few weeks, and everything was fine. The area is away from the main streets, so both the hotel and rooms were quiet and great for a good rest. The staff were very friendly, and there’s a nice restaurant, bar, and small fitness area. Seems worth it for any kind of trip. The one thing missing was a minibox or fridge in the room.

That lake view and the location are simply stunning. The staff were friendly and diligent, breakfast was fresh and decent, and I appreciated the nice coffee. Free parking, plus fast internet that was easy to connect to. The rooms are very simple, maybe even spartan. If you want luxury, this isn’t the place for you. That didn’t bother me, but it might matter to some people.
