Half board turned out to be a lovely surprise, and being right on the trail made setting off the next day easy. We stayed while hiking the Via Alpina. The room was fairly basic and a bit old, but I’d recommend it for a hiking stop.

The walk from Melcht-Frutt Berg station to Tannalp is about 5 km and fairly flat. Our older guests, who are in their 70s, managed it nicely with their grandchildren. We’d happily do it again, next time for fishing. We had a great weekend at Berghaus Tannalp with our family, including young children and grandparents. Sleeping there was a lot of fun. We booked a bunk room for 10 people with dinner and breakfast. Both meals were simple, fresh, and very neat. I suppose the cheese and butter come from the neighbours, as I saw a fromage-making spot. The location is wonderful, and the whole team was smiling and kind. Danke sehr to everyone for making the weekend such a lovely memory.

We stayed one night during a multi-day hike, two adults and two kids in a six-bed room. The food at dinner and breakfast was fantastic, though there wasn’t much variety. The bed was comfortable, and the shared showers and bathrooms were spotless, with hot water and good pressure. Staff were all very friendly. Being able to pay by credit card is a nice bonus somewhere this remote.

The AppleStrudel with heart-shaped syrup was a treat ❤️🍏. The food was great, but the kitchen shuts at 15:30, more than an hour before sunset, so there isn’t much available after that.
