The room change made our second night much better, and we really appreciated how kindly and quickly the staff helped us. We were only there for two nights, though the first was rough. Our room sat right over bars and restaurants on a busy street, with bells ringing every 15 minutes through the night. Then a drinks truck spent over three hours in the morning loading and unloading kegs outside our window. It was nearly impossible to sleep.

The Flammeries at the pub are so good, don't miss them. Hotel Adler is a real gem in the middle of Murten, with a cozy feel, historic charm, and a modern interior. It doesn't feel like the usual run-down Swiss hotel.

A quick aperitif before dinner around the corner was just right. The bar has a great atmosphere, and on a winter evening it was refreshing to walk over and have a glass of local white wine. Next time I need to try their beer.

The rooms are spacious and nicely refined, but there's no air conditioning, so getting fresh air means putting up with noise from the customers outside. Since the hotel is also a pub restaurant, that noise took me by surprise at first. I only ended up here because my original hotel, two minutes away, couldn't check me in and its automatic check-in machine wasn't working. I found this place on Google and called at 1 a.m. The receptionist answered and said she'd be closing in 30 minutes, so I drove over quickly and was met by really warm, helpful staff. If I'd known about the pub beforehand, I wouldn't have been surprised by the noise.
