Hotel de la Gare

We really appreciated how kind and helpful the hosts were throughout our two nights at Hôtel de la Gare Montbovon. They were flexible and accommodating, and arranged a nice bed for our four-year-old when we asked. Dinner was simple but hearty. The rooms were clean and organized, practical rather than fancy. It was good value, with lots of pleasant walks nearby. Being right by the station made it easy to catch trains and explore places like gruyère and gstaad.

We stayed for a weekend and got a lovely warm welcome at Hotel de la gare. It's a charming family-run place, and the hosts gave us great suggestions for places to eat. Breakfast had several options, with delicious homemade bread; some ingredients came from the garden, and the cooking was really good. We also had a great Fondue-evening and enjoyed the meal and the whole evening. Our room was clean, warm and cosy. The location worked well for exploring Gruyères's region. We had a great stay and would recommend it.

The friendly, practical staff sped up check-in so we wouldn't miss the train to the Snow Glow show in Chateux d-Oex. The location works well for winter travel by public transport, and everything was clean and comfortable. The old-style decor gives the place some character. One thing to know: at least in rooms with private bathrooms, they don't provide soap, shampoo or similar, so bring your own.

The railway station is just across the road, which is brilliant. The hotel is lovely, the rooms are comfortable, and the hosts are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, especially the delicious homemade bread and jams.
