Not cheap, but the family room is great, with two genuinely separate rooms. Breakfast was okay, and it makes a good base for trips to the nearby mountains.

Our room and bathroom were clean, and the window looked out onto a lovely mountain view. The Italian breakfast was great. The hotel is right across from the train station, and there’s paid street parking about 30 metres away.

I’m cycling around the Alps and this is my second stay here. My previous visit was in 2016. The hotel was completely renovated last year, and the rooms are well equipped. Breakfast was good. It’s an easy walk to the centre of Monthey, and being opposite the railway station makes the hotel simple to find. There was no noise from the station.

It looks a bit underwhelming from outside, but inside is nice, and the breakfast is very good. Better than I expected.

A very nice hotel, and the excellent breakfast is included.
