I’ve stayed here a few times and am always glad to come back. Haus Flora is a fitting name, with lots of work put into the grounds. The apartments are roomy, very clean, and practically furnished. It’s a tidy, well-kept place, and the residents clearly care about keeping it peaceful and quiet. Fair enough, I think.
After 34 years of visiting Locarno, we still stay at Residenza Flora. It suits us perfectly, and we really hope it continues to do so. The apartment is bright and roomy, with practical furnishings. There’s something to do for every taste around Locarno, though you may need to look around a bit. Knowing Italian is helpful.
The parking spaces are a real problem: they’re so small that getting in is a mess. Otherwise, it’s a very nice complex with a view of the lake. The station and the entrance to the city center are about five minutes away. The lakeside promenade, with its bars and restaurants, is two minutes away when there isn’t a train in the way.
The central spot comes with noise from the main road and trains, unfortunately. The apartment complex itself is beautiful, with a garage, and the apartment was spacious and comfortably furnished. The balcony and view were great.
The apartments are lovely, but there’s no air conditioning. It’s also a big downside that you can’t get a space in the underground garage, even though one is available. In a bad hailstorm, your car could end up damaged.
