The prices are steep, but I felt they were worth paying for. Samuel gave us fantastic service, and the food was delicious, with great wine by the glass. The ingredients and preparation were high quality. I’ve never had a better chocolate lava cake.

The desserts were a highlight, especially the rice, pear and lime, and the petit fours were full of flavor and imagination. We had a superb meal at the Ochsen in Muri and will definitely be back. Everything from the stylish décor and beautiful presentation to the cutlery, especially that butter knife, felt carefully thought through. The fire-centered concept, great service and fantastic wine from Kanton Aargau all added to it. The food was amazing throughout: the salmon starter stood out, as did the scallops and veal. Pork neck with beetroot was divine, and the wagyu croquette with miso was so soft it came with a spoon for cutting. There was an excellent amuse-bouche and even a pre-dessert. A truly talented chef and team, many thanks. This is the best restaurant in the area by miles. I can’t recommend it enough.
