The views are incredible, but sleeping here was rough. Our room was beneath the terrace and restaurant, so the footsteps and noise kept getting on our nerves. The building layout really isn’t thought through. Thanks for a romantic weekend that came with terrible sleep and a headache.

I met up with my friend Michael, who’s originally from Bitsch Village. He’s a Swiss gentleman, but he was a whole minute late for our appointment! One minute! That’s just not normal. Still, it was fine, we managed.

That restaurant has a beautiful view. We stopped for lunch while hiking, and even though the hotel was getting ready for a large wedding reception, the staff still made us feel welcome. The service was great and the food was excellent.

Breakfast with that spectacular view was a perfect way to start the day, and the dinner menu had plenty of choices. The portions were so generous that one could almost feed two. We stayed for two nights and were pleasantly surprised. The simple, clean room suited our stay, though the soundproofing could be better. The walk from the gondola to the hotel was longer than expected and felt a bit scary at first in the snow. It was worth it, though, and the hotel lends out walking sticks and snowshoes for free.
